Couples & Relationship Therapy
Couples and relationship therapy in Central London and online.
I offer integrative couples and relationship therapy for adults in Central London and online.
How I work with couples.
My approach is integrative and relational. This means I do not follow a single fixed method. Instead, I work in a way that is responsive to who you are as a couple and what is happening in your relationship right now.
Rather than positioning myself as an expert who tells you what to do, my role is to help you understand each other more fully. We pay attention to what you both bring, but also to what happens between you in the room. The patterns you carry into other relationships often show up here too, and noticing them together can open up new possibilities.
I draw on Transactional Analysis, psychodynamic and humanistic approaches, alongside trauma-aware practice. In practice, this looks like paying attention to the words being spoken, the emotions underneath them, the ways you each learned to relate long before you met each other, and the small moments that shape how safe or heard you feel with your partner.
Therapy is not about deciding who is right and who is wrong. It is about creating enough space for both of you to be understood, so that something different becomes possible.
What sessions look like.
The first few sessions are a chance for me to hear from both of you. There is no need to have things figured out. Many couples come feeling uncertain about what they want, or worried about saying the wrong thing. That is normal, and it is welcome.
From there, we shape the work around what is most needed. Some couples want to focus on a specific issue. Others want a slower, deeper exploration of the patterns they have found themselves in. We will talk about this together and revisit it as our work evolves.
I work weekly, as consistency helps create the safety and momentum that therapy relies on. If circumstances make weekly work difficult, we can discuss what feels sustainable.
